Dawne Wheeler Reed is president and CEO of Know The Net. She has nearly 30 years of education experience and operates the web site MrsRead.Com for school librarians. She has been active in education and educational technology in Kentucky, Arizona and Texas. She created the Kids Day program for the Central Kentucky Computer Society in Lexington and helped operate CompuLEX, the Society’s annual computer show and seminar series held at the Lexington Center and Rupp Arena. 




 

David M Reed has more than 40 years experience in journalism and has operated major research and development projects in new media for one of the largest newspaper groups in the country. He was an original beta tester for CompuServe’s information system and Viewtron. He operated a three-channel news and information research project for Knight-Ridder Newspapers in the 1970s. He also began pioneering websites (KentuckyConnect.com and Kentucky.com in 1995) while at the Lexington Herald-Leader and he was Director of StarNet, the online service of the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson.  Most recently he was online director for the El Paso Times and the Texas-New Mexico Newspaper Partnership. He has written for Byte Magazine and various other national publications. He has served on an advisory board at Apple Computer and has consulted with Microsoft, Intuit, Symantec and other Silicon Valley firms. He was one of the founders of  the Central Kentucky Computer Society, a local computer users group that grew from 9 members to more 1,500. He also set up the Central Kentucky SeniorNet Learning Center in Lexington which provides low-cost computer instruction to seniors. He has been a speaker at major industry conferences.
